Long Night of Museums

17 May 2019 Workshops Lecture

This year The Regional Museum in Zwoleń also joined to nationally action Long Night of Museums. Workshops and lectures organized that day related to Kochanowski family.

During workshops “Kochanowski, Latin, Vine and Polonaise”, leaded by PhD Agata Łuka (KUL), participants may have tried themselves at singing epigrams. We would remember some interesting facts about Latin poems by Jan Kochanowski too.

In the second part, which took place at St. Francis’ Chapel – the Necropolis of Kochanowski Family, PhD Paweł Madejski told about the epitaphs placed there, explicated inscriptions and other elements they include. Furthermore he portrayed funeral customs of Polish nobility. Closing, guide Teresa Stachniak presented an intricate story of poet John’s burial.

Special thanks for our lecturers and all the guests for yesterday’s visit. We hope see even more visitors at next Long Night of Museums!
